ATSC operates as a 501(c)(6) non-profit industry association that creates value by coordinating stakeholders to develop, maintain and promote interoperable technical standards for digital terrestrial television and related data broadcasting. It convenes broadcasters, manufacturers, technology vendors, regulators and other organisations in formal technology groups, implementation teams and committees to produce standards, recommended practices and reports (e.g., the ATSC 3.0 system specification).
